About

Instant business intelligence for UK SMB.

Valio exists because UK private companies are the most consequential — and worst-served — segment of the economy. Five million of them file accounts at Companies House every year. Yet when an owner, accountant, or acquirer wants to know what one is worth, how healthy it is, or how it stacks up to peers, the options are a five-figure consultant, a spreadsheet template, or an enterprise platform sold by the year.

The thesis

The raw data is already public and free. What's missing is the layer on top: a consistent schema for UK accounts, a defensible valuation methodology, and a conversational interface that turns any filed set of numbers into something an operator can actually use. That's Valio.

What we're building

  • Instant indicative valuations for any UK limited company with filed accounts — three methodologies blended into a defensible range.
  • Financial health scoring — liquidity, leverage, profitability, Altman Z', trend detection, risk flags.
  • Chat BI — ask any question about a company's filed accounts and get answers grounded in the actual numbers.
  • Deal sourcing — filter the whole UK private company universe by sector, size, and acquirability heuristics.

What we're not

Valio is not a RICS Red Book valuation service, a regulated financial advisor, or a data reseller. Valuations are indicative and for informational use — we are very clear about this on every report and in every subscription.

Who's behind it

Valio is built by a small UK team that has spent years in private equity, M&A, and accounting technology. We've seen first-hand how much time SMB owners and their advisors waste reproducing analysis that should be a commodity. We're fixing that.
