Terms of Service
Last updated: 18 April 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Valio platform, marketing website, APIs and related services (together, the “Service”), operated by Valio Ltd (“Valio”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Who we are
Valio Ltd is a company incorporated in England and Wales. Our registered address and company number will be shown in the footer of this site once incorporation is complete. Contact us at hello@valio.co.uk.
2. The Service
Valio ingests public UK company data (primarily from Companies House) and produces indicative business valuations, financial health scores, and conversational analytics. The Service is for informational purposes only.
3. Not financial or regulated advice
Valio does not provide regulated financial advice, tax advice, legal advice, or a RICS Red Book valuation. Nothing produced by the Service — including valuations, health scores, and chat output — should be relied upon as a substitute for professional advice from a qualified practitioner. You are solely responsible for any decision you make in reliance on the Service.
4. Your account
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Resell, sublicense, or publish Service output except as explicitly permitted by your plan (e.g. client-facing PDFs on the Advisor tier).
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the underlying data or models in bulk.
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or defraud any person or entity.
- Use the Service in any way that would violate applicable law, including UK data protection, competition, and financial services law.
6. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance in GBP via Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the Billing Portal; access continues until the end of the paid period. Except as required by law (including the UK 14-day right of withdrawal for consumer purchases), fees are non-refundable.
During the public beta, Valio is offered free of charge. We will give at least 14 days' notice before requiring a paid plan.
7. Data and intellectual property
Company information displayed by the Service originates from public UK government sources, primarily Companies House, and is used under their respective open data licences. Reports and analytics generated by the Service are licensed to you for your own and your clients' internal use.
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service (for example, chat messages). You grant Valio a worldwide, non- exclusive licence to process that content solely to operate and improve the Service.
8. Service availability
We target high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend or limit the Service for maintenance, security, or upstream-provider issues (e.g. Companies House API outages).
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Valio's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service shall not exceed the fees you paid to Valio in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Valio is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost profits or business opportunity.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence).
10. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately for breach of these Terms. Provisions intended to survive termination (including §3, §7, §9 and §12) shall do so.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified at least 14 days in advance by email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may also bring claims in the courts of their country of residence.
